Well, I have been a member of this website under one log-in or another for the last couple of decades and never written a review, so if i"m going to write just one review, it may as well be about the best film ever made I suppose.
The Shawshank Redemption undoubtedly, in my opinion, deserves to be the highest rated movie of all time. It is a film you can watch again and again and take something more from it each time. It is simply life affirming, which we often need in these times where so many of us float through life, not appreciating what we have, and taking simple pleasures for granted.
It is a moving tale of hope, friendship & redemption. The friendship between the two main characters is unforgettable and the score is fantastic.I feel sorry for people who say this film is overrated. Not because I don"t respect that other people have different opinions, but because if you cannot appreciate this film and the messages it gives us, then I feel you are missing out.
